Bryony Harrison-Miller, Director of Sustainability

Intro section…

Bryony Harrison-Miller
Director of Sustainability

Prior to this role I worked as a Production producer at various companies including Sky, Bare Films & Little Fish Films, where I worked with renowned food director Gus Filgate.

In my role I am responsible for:

  • Protecting the high standards we have set ourselves for continually improving our sustainability offerings
  • Ensuring we measure and reduce our carbon footprint and continue working towards a decarbonised industry
  • Working with suppliers and clients to continue our sustainability mission
  • Using the company’s sphere of influence to push for more dramatic decarbonisation

I studied Media Production at Bournemouth University and completed an incredibly useful course through The University of Cambridge department: Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership

What do you like to do in your spare time?

In my spare time I volunteer for a local school charity, try to grow produce in my allotment, ferry my kids around and I love to cook

Who would play you in a film?

I think Olivia Colman is so talented, she could probably make a hilarious character of me

What is your favourite shoot you have ever worked on?

My favourite shoots were always the super highspeed shoots.  Filming (food normally) plopping into a liquid at super highspeed never ceased to amaze.  It always made for a hyper focused set too.

Why do you think it’s important that GSH focus on sustainability?

I think it’s important that we focus on sustainability because:

  • I believe in a liveable future FOR ALL
  • The way the world currently works needs to change to make a “liveable future for all” a reality; as an SME we can in our own small way be an example of that change.
  • Climate change is real and we must do everything within our power not to contribute to it.
  • By focusing on sustainability, we help productions be more sustainable. Working towards a decarbonised industry matters.
